RELEASES ~ THE BEARDY DURFS - HAPPY
Recording the whole EP in their basement, the Copenhagen duo release their follow up to last year's 'Poppy' EP, with 'Happy', the second installment into
their trilogy of EPs. The band pick up where they left off on their previous releases, with their laissez-faire approach to pop music.
From the dreamy "Pack The Van", to the avant-garde mellow
dadaism on 'Infinity Is Something', Happy is an EP that is as exciting as it is perplexing to the listener. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band, which is well known in Copenhagen
for its militant DIY stance, 'Happy' shows The Beardy Durfs once again cementing their status as one of the most innovative bands in the Copenhagen underground.
The wide range of old, home-made
and poorly altered instruments used by the duo on Happy, gives the listener a meandering tour through the Beardy Durfs' at times bizarre sonic universe.
The 'Happy' EP is a joint release between Copenhagen label It Was Gnarled and Geertruida.
